Our list of music trivia categories show you all the options for music rounds to add to trivia night. Most people listen to music of some type so as long as you stick to pretty popular music on the charts, these categories will be a great addition to your event. We have categories that cover many types of music: rock, country, pop, classical, Broadway, holiday, and more. This page lists all the different music categories we have to offer so you can see all that is available before you pick which is the best for you. Our music rounds cover a wide variety of genres and time periods. And, even if you don't have a sound system, we have text categories that just ask about music: name the artist, finish the lyrics, backing band names, song titles, details about songs, etc.
From Katy Perry to the Beach Boys...from Justin Timberlake to Conway Twitty. The Rolling Stones, Britney Spears, Ed Sheeran, the Beatles, Taylor Swift, and the list goes on. Test your knowledge to see who are your table and at the whole trivia knows the most about music history, lyrics, music awards, and more. All these categories will challenge even the biggest music fan and help you to put on an entertaining event for your guests.
If you need help deciding which category to choose, it may be best to ask some others in your organization what appeals to them or ask some people that you know will be attending which ones they think the other people at the event will like. Just make sure to ask people who can have a big picture view of all the different types of people that will be there. It's always safe to choose mixed categories as those appeal to a wider range of audiences. Almost all of the Trivia Packs mixed categories range from 70s music until present so they appeal to a wide age range playing at the table, a common occurrence at events. And again, the mixed categories feature all different genres/types of music: rock, country, 80s music, soft rock, pop, and more.
However, if you go to the more specific categories, make sure you really know your crowd. For example, you probably won't want to do an 80s music round for a group of mostly elderly players. Just like you wouldn't want to do a 50s music round for a group of millennials. Not only would they likely hate that…they would have no clues about any of the answers. That makes for a bad experience and your players won’t come back for your next fundraiser. So make sure you know your crowd to find the best rounds for your event.
